Job Description:

Maintain files related to American scholars and Indian fellowships.
Prepare budget for Fulbright programs; arrange for advance and prepare reimbursement claims.
Provide facilitation services to visiting American scholars information on cities, housing, foreigners registration, travel, health and settling-in
Co-ordinate with facilitators for American grantees in the region.
Provide facilitation to Indian scholars - visa application and referral, documentation, foreign exchange and follow-up on tickets.
Interact with institutions in the region for affiliation of visiting American scholars.
Assist in the co-ordination of selection and screening committee meetings for the Indian program.
Plan and organize programs around the expertise of Indian and American Fulbright scholars, programs around visitors and mentoring workshops including interaction with the media when needed.
Create & update database of contacts and Fulbrighters in the Western Region.
Publicize information on the Fulbright program through targeted outreach visits and engaging alumni.
Plan alumni meets twice a year.
Any other duties as assigned by the Regional Officer.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors Degree. Masters Degree Preferable.
Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in multi-cultural environment and with a higher education institution or other not-for-profit organization

IT Skills:

High Level Oral and Written English Communication; Negotiation; Facilitation Skills;

Word Processing, Internet/ Email

Knowledge required:

Higher Education; Administration systems and processes; Budget and Finance

Compensation

Negotiable. Compensation package will be determined on the basis of qualifications and experience, and/or salary history.

CSR is about how companies conduct their business in a way that is ethical. This means taking account of their impact socially, environmentally, economically and in terms of human rights. It can involve a range of activities such as:

Working in partnership with local communities
Socially responsible investment (SRI)
Developing relationships with employees and customers
Environmental protection and sustainability

Career at CSR:
There is no such thing as a typical career path in CSR and there is no single professional body at present that represents the needs and interests of all those working in the field. This is due to the diverse disciplines involved and also the complexity of the roles and responsibilities of a CSR practitioner. The process of establishing and responding to the CSR agenda within an organisation, will require specialists with specific CSR competencies.

This is hard to clarify due to the diverse roles and range of disciplines involved. In 2004, the then Department for Trade and Industry (now BERR) categorised the skills and competencies required into three main areas:

Business skills (including building insight, communication skills, decision making, commercial awareness, IT, innovation, strategic awareness, leadership, handling complexity and problem solving)
People skills (including adaptability and empathy, developing others, influencing without power, open minded, integrity, political awareness, self-development and learning, building partnerships, team working and questioning "business as usual")
Technical skills (including technical expertise, understanding impacts, stakeholder dialogue, internal consultancy, selling the business case, understanding human rights and understanding sustainability).

From this, they developed 6 core competencies for managers involved with CSR in organisations:

Understanding society
Building capacity
Questioning business as usual
Stakeholder relations
Strategic view
Harnessing diversity
